How do I become a licensed wildlife rehabilitator in New York state?
My husband and I found an orphaned squirrel yesterday and delivered to a therapist in another city. There is nobody in our immediate region. I have always loved animals and I'm interested in getting a license so that I can myself rehabilitation of small mammals.
what does it take for a regular person(a non-science major)to become a licensed wildlife care taker?

This is good news for Brancato, because skunks can spray the oily substance they use to defend themselves up to 15 feet — and their aim is good. This year has been a bad year for skunks. "We've very lucky in that way, because we're going to at least be able to approach the skunk that is a little less likely to spray," Brancato says. Area squirrel lovers think her name is Lena, that she lives on Barrow Street (someone followed her home), visits the park at 8 and 5 and has two dogs, a German shepherd and a shepherd mix.
