What can I do further to protect myself from an apparent credit thief?
I set up alerts to the three credit unions and have watched my cc for abuse. It just seems to be enough. Any suggestions (other than obvious things like paying attention to my art and other confidential information).
If a card is used, request that the card is closed and a new number will be issued for this reason. You have done what you can block the new cards to be issued in your name.
Credit score just dropped for no apparent reason?
My score has been steadily climbing since I got my first secured credit card four years ago. I now have a credit line of $4500. Last month (Jan 09) my score had reached 806. Unfortunately just a month later it's down to 772. That's the same score
Probably you have some wrong items in your credit report. Use credit repair service to find and remove such bad stuff from your credit - freecreditreport.sinfree.net
